Established to cater to the growing demand for skilled multimedia professionals, our department offers both BA Multimedia and MA Multimedia programs. The BA Multimedia program, initially known as BMMC since 2006, transitioned to its current title in 2019, while the MA Multimedia program was introduced in 2013, aiming to cultivate advanced expertise in multimedia production and design. At our well-equipped facilities, which include cutting-edge studios, labs, an audio-visual theatre, and smart classrooms, students immerse themselves in hands-on learning experiences. Beyond academic excellence, our students excel in extracurricular activities, particularly in sports and artistic endeavors. This department of Sociology has been established in the year 2024 and follows the FYUG pattern. It is an exciting and illuminating field of study that analyses and explains important matters in our personal lives, our communities, and the world. At the personal level, sociology investigates the social causes and consequences of such things as romantic love, racial and gender identity, family conflict, deviant behaviour, ageing, and religious faith. At the societal level, sociology examines and explains matters like crime and law, poverty and wealth, prejudice and discrimination, schools and education, business firms, urban community, and social movements. At the global level, sociology studies such phenomena as population growth and migration, war and peace, and economic development.Students who have been well trained in sociology know how to think critically about human social life, and how to ask important research questions.

The Department of Food Technology was established in the year 2018. BSc food technology is a 4-year honour under graduate. Apart from theoretical knowledge we provide experiential learning opportunities for students such as practicals, certificate courses, industrial visit and in-plant training which makes our students a perfect fit for food research and development. The program includes the study of various courses like food Microbiology, food chemistry, Nutrition, Food Engineering, Food analysis, Food packaging and preservation, Food safety laws and regulations, Technology of fruits, vegetables, cereals, and dairy products, etc in addition to physics and chemistry as the complementary courses. There are 5 teachers in food technology department. All students get experiential learning through industrial visit ,On job training and research projects. The department gives special emphasis to give personal attention to each student and nurture their talents

The Department of Hotel Management and Catering Science was established in 2015. The Department of Hotel management offers undergraduate degree in BSc Hotel Management and Catering Science affiliated to the University of Calicut, which helps youth to take the first step towards a rewarding Hospitality career. Department has a well designed infrastructure and practical labs to cater the needs of the students and equip them to become an efficient professional and thrive in the field of hotel industry. The department also enables the students to be a hotelier, tour provider, travel assistant and other related positions in the hospitality discipline. The department has been in limelight as it has provided 100 percent placement for all the batches it has produced so far, through a dedicated training and camp of Placement Cell

The department was established in the year 2014 in JDT Islam College of Arts and Science. Bachelor of Commerce Cooperation course is a 3 to 4 years course which is divided into 8 semesters according to the FYUG programs. After acquiring this degree programme, one gets an option to start a career in related fields. Students pursuing the course can choose a minor of their choice in some semesters. B. Com. Co-operation deals with management of co-operative enterprise, managing a business, and voluntary sector organisations etc. The programme enables students to get jobs in co- operative enterprises.

The Department of Functional English was established in the year 2005. English being recognized as a global language has given an impetus to the significance of language learning. The department has brought laurels to the institution in academic as well as co-curricular activities. Our students have secured commendable grades and have aspired to their higher education in many reputed Colleges and Universities. The department provides complementary courses in Journalism and cultural studies which provides a glimpse to the journalistic scenario and new theories.
